My
Journal Notes
If
you want a laugh, nostalgia, or feat in the comfort of your home - try Netflix.
Check
on the following for a good watch.
1.
Like
Father – A bit sentimental remembering times with your Dad like singing
together, eating together and perhaps running to Dad for comfort.
After
she’s left the altar, a workaholic
advertising executive ends up on her Caribbean honeymoon cruise with her
estranged father. Kristen Bell and Kelsey Grammer star in this
comedy-drama.
It
brought me tears reconstructing the picture of my Dad in the present time. Like nothing to worry about when Daddy is
around because Dad’s got you.
2.
Maid
in Manhattan – Hotel staff would love
this film. It is like a dream-come-true
love story or a prince falling in love with a humble maid. Jennifer Lopez and
Ralph Fiennes, a senatorial candidate team up a fairy tale in Manhattan. Wayne Wang directs the film.
Every
lady’s wish is to marry a powerful man, especially if the man would love her in
spite of the differences.
3.
Made
of Honor - What are friends for? Best
friends forever? True friends can never
separate. They help each other and let
each other prosper and find happiness.
But there comes a time when true friends could answer your heart’s
wishes for true love, as if together both of you were perfectly picked for
marriage.
Made
of Honor is a 2008 American romantic comedy film directed by Paul Weiland and
written by Adam Sztykiel, Deborah Kaplan, and Harry Elfont. Patrick Dempsey is Tom and Michelle Monaghan
is Hannah.
If
I were Hannah, of course, I’d fall in love with Tom, which in real life is
unsuitable because best friends are like brothers and sisters. But then, of one in a million, it can happen
if you are both attracted to each other like gummy bears that get stuck in a
hug and sugar.
4.
The
Two Popes –
Jonathan Pryce and Anthony
Hopkins garnered Academy Award nominations, for Best Actor and Best Supporting
Actor respectively, in this movie, “The Two Popes.”
Moreover, McCarten's screenplay,
received high praise from critics and won Hollywood’s Screenwriter’s
Award.
The
movie is an immense inspiration for the clerics and for everyone, what happens
and goes around, love is above all.
Says
Francis to Benedict,
“The
truth may be vital but without love, it is unbearable.”
“Caritas
in veritate. Your book.” (The Two Popes,
Netflix)
5.
