Words from the Holy Bible

Over the years, society has been guided by laws to protect the people. Each person has the right and freedom to live a happy life. These laws rooted from a set of rules that was handed down to Moses by God on Mount Sinai. Moses, was given these laws for the Israelites, the chosen people (Exodus 19:1-34,35 – The Ten Commandments).

The Israelites represented the people of God, the whole human race. There are specials studies and interpretations that come with this. Moreover, as God’s followers, a golden rule summarizes into two: Love God and Love thy neighbor as thyself. “Do good to others as you want others to do to you.”

I. A list of information/words from the Ten Commandments

1. Moses Moses and the Ten Commandments (Exodus 19:1-34,35); the great leader and law giver of the Israelites; received the Ten Commandments from God on Mt. Sinai. He stayed with the Lord for 40 days and 40 nights without water, nor food. He wrote the commandments on stone tablets.

2. Sinai the mountain often identified with several of the Sinai Peninsula in which Moses received the law;

“You will be a nation that belongs to me alone. You must tell the Israelites these words.” (Exodus 19:6)

3. ten one more than nine, perfect number in rating scores, 10 fingers, 10 toes

I am the Lord your God: you must not have any other gods except me.

You must not use the name of the Lord your God thoughtlessly.

Remember to keep the Sabbath as a holy day. (There are six days for working. But the seventh day is a day of rest to honor the Lord your God.)

Honor your father and your mother.

You must not kill.

You must not commit adultery.

You must not steal.

You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

You shall not covet they neighbor’s wife.

You shall not covet you neighbor’s goods.

4. Sabbath a day of the week used for rest and worship; Sunday, as observed by most Christians;

7. priest a chosen servant of God who performs public religious acts; minister

8.Israelites Jew, Hebrew; a descendant of Israel (Jacob); Figurative. Any group regarded as chosen by God

9. holy sacred; Holy Communion, Holy Mass; dedicated or devoted to the service of God, holy workers; The Bible, Talmud and Koran are sacred writings.
