When Life Seems to Wane Like a Moon

Life is a miracle of changes.

Like a moon it goes full and sometimes wanes.

When life seems to wane like a moon... what would we do?

We have to sing a song.

We have to rise and go out fishing.

We have to dance.

We have to jump like horses, fly like birds, and run like dogs.

No, we don't have to sleep or else dreams would fade like shadows.

We have to smile like flowers blooming,

or we could wash our eyes and get refreshed.

We have to always try seconds, minutes, hours - every breath we take.

Remember after the moon wanes - daylight would come,

because tomorrow night, the moon would glow again

like polished glowing diamonds.

When life seems to wane like a moon

and the monsters hover around us...

GOD would crack the earth

make us happy again

and play in the full moon.

Servant of the People

A priest is called to be a father of the Christian community. He is a special servant of God, his duty is to incarnate the love of God in his ministry to transform the people he serves in the family of God.

The world needs people who will preach the gospel, care for humanity, and celebrate the Eucharist. This work will be served by chosen people who will dedicate themselves totally and faithfully to God.

This 2009 - 2010 is the year of Priests. The laity is reminded to work together in accomplishing the goals of the church. Unity in prayer for priests and religious should form part of our lives so we could have more servants of the people who would sacrifice to help us become better persons and live in morally upright and happy communities.

As a priest, Fr. Jose P. Dizon serves God by serving the poor. In the context of Philippine society, priesthood entails being part of social transformation. Preaching the gospel would mean working for justice.

Ordained in 1973 during Martial Law, he sa…

On the Western Wall Jerusalem, A Prayer by Pope Benedict XVI

God of all the ages,
on my visit to Jerusalem, the "City of Peace",
spiritual home to Jews, Christians and Muslims alike,
I bring before you the joys, the hopes and the aspirations,
the trials, the suffering and the pain of all your people throughout the world.
God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob,
hear the cry of the afflicted, the fearful, the bereft;
send your peace upon this Holy Land, upon the Middle East,
upon the entire human family;
stir the hearts of all who call upon your name,
to walk humbly in the path of justice and compassion.
"The Lord is good to those who wait for him,
to the soul that seeks him!" (Lam 3:25)

On Love, On Life

1. Love is the only miracle man could understand each other.

2. To admonish a person is to help him grow.

3. One has to learn to say NO and fight for a conviction in life.

4. We don't consent on unfair things and be part of a deceit.

5. Life becomes unfair because of people who aren't morally upright.

6. We all have to remind each other; no man is perfect.

7. Often, to fight for the truth takes small chances when the powerful lurks in a company of evil men. We all have to pray a lot so that all of us would be guided by the Holy Spirit everyday.

8. Losing is not being weak. It is accepting something others cannot give away, in some situations; behold GOD will give justice soon.

9. Praying is a weapon Jesus left to us on earth and going heaven. Praying comes with love, forgiveness, humility, and strength.

10. Being a good man, makes one live to be a good example. He works with everyone but has his own dignity. He could stand alone and die for a cause. The Bib…

The National Artist Award is a Fiction Story?

I have met and interviewed Philippine's respectable National Artists like, Nick Joaquin, Levi Celerio, Ma'am Ivi..., Arturo Luz, among others. Ma'am Edith Tiempo and all the other awardees raised no questions coming from different sectors of the writing community, but now this 2009 is mourning for this award. Many artists, writers, poet, painters...wouldnt approve of Pres Arroyo's appointment, where she isn't part of the circle. It is simple Math and Science, If she's not a doctor -- she couldn't just appoint the best doctor because she doesnt know the code of ethics and the canons.

What would be good for her is to appoint or check better government officials for better governance and procedures where public service is concerned. The government has to give quick beneficial results to ease the life of the Filipinos.

Where is freedom of the press here?

Most of the time, people around the world mock us for low ideals - can't we reach higher for bette…

To Ceasar What is Due to Ceasar...

The president, Mrs. Arroyo should give the people what is due them - i could not mind so much with her affairs, but then each of us has territories... i hope she doesnt MESS with the national artists, the writers, and each one's profession/vocation. She could have given some advise and comments,

BUT PLEASE don't MESS, never MESS with something YOU ARE NOT.

As responsible professionals and good workers we need a set of body to help each other. Awards are not emergencies... they can always wait and recipients of such should work with time and devotion to his work where others benefit.

The National Artist Award is sacred to - us - writers. We have our own UNSELFISH standards. Our work is dedicated to the majority and the preservation of good art that has been toiled in the course of many many years. Reals writers and artists never earn enough ---- they GIVE MORE...NO ONE can ever stop fighting for the values they earn in their work/vocation.

Reals artists have delicadeza…

Random Thoughts – 1-10

On Service, Rules, Procedures…et al.

1. Love comes in service and any form of work. Pay comes only as secondary factor.

2. There is no justice in slow procedures. Remember slow procedures are acts of thieving. It is stealing one’s time, and one’s capacity to work in an office or his own home.

3. Many capitalists and big businesses gain from unfair labor practices. They use poor people and do not even care if they could have decent homes and education for their families/children.

4. Most politicians are usually “spoils,” says Rene Azurin in his book “Power Without Virtue.” I agree that most of them are intoxicated by power. Only a few would be willing to die for the poor. As such, US, the working class and the poor must be cautious in their greedy habits. They, the powerful - have friends who scratch their backs, too.

5. Red tape can never help. It is a form of power play, a source of corruption, and a hindrance for better outcomes.

6. Those who aspire for pow…

Think Quotes at Random 1-10

1. Power play is a game of life. We have to pray for good intentions.

2. Some people are too insincere, they will scratch your back when they need something. Let them wash their hands first.

3. Chores are too many to count, sometimes, we end up doing nothing.

4. One small task accomplished everyday is more than many promises and wishes.

5. Trying to do things for others is praying, too.

6. Life is temporary.

7. Love is sharing. Sometimes, it is letting go of what we want the most.

8. There are only 24 hours in a day. If thoughts come with GOD we could always die the next morrow.

9. Education does not always happen in school. It happens in our own homes, in our workplaces, everywhere. Education comes with love.

10. We have to pray for each other. We have to pray for the dead. We have to pray every breath we take. True prayer is our lives well lived.

the day will soon end

i would partly finish my prose and poetry

i have seen today - a lot of pictures

i couldnt paint the best

all and all and all are best

we have to see through all the pictures

because they couldnt talk

because they couldnt move

because they have been real to us.

On GODs Will

GODs will is oftentimes not volunteering

it is what happens when you wouldn't want to do it

and the situation allows no one to do it

it is waiting, sometimes even defying

but accepting

in the most needed time -

when no one sees

all you need to say to the world;

GOD lives around you

around this work

where only GOD gives you the power.

History Writes in 2009

Monday, August 3, 2009

history writes to us in 2009...

the penumbral eclipse on july 7

the death of a legendary artist/singer michael jackson on june 25

now, the death of cory aquino (Philippines' 11th president) on august 1: asia's first woman president, icon of democracy, and servant of the people

may GOD reward the dead for their good deeds, embrace them forever

may GOD help the living to live life to the fullest

may GOD let us understand that

life is not the quantity of the things we do

but the love and service in small and big things we do

just like Maria

just like Jesu

just like the ordinary - Us

Lord, we pray to you

The Our Father -

Our Father who art in heaven

Holy be Your Name

Your Kingdom come

Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven

Give us today our daily bread

And forgive us our sins

as we forgive those who sin against us

and lead us not into temptation

but deliver us from evil.

May the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace.

Send O Lord, Holy Apostles into Your Church.
